Fury Warrior PvP Guide

Fury PvP is a niche, aggressive alternative to Arms — it hits harder in raw burst thanks to dual-wield and Bloodthirst, but it gives up Mortal Strike's healing debuff, which is the single most valuable thing an arena Warrior brings. That trade-off keeps Arms the standard arena spec.

Overview

Fury can spike a squishy target fast in a coordinated swap, but without the −50% healing it struggles to close games against a competent healer.

Strengths

  • +Higher raw burst than Arms in a swap window
  • +Strong rage generation with dual-wield
  • +Death Wish + Recklessness delete squishies

Weaknesses

  • No Mortal Strike healing debuff — the big loss
  • Kited and peeled as hard as any Warrior

Stat priority & caps (arena)

Stat caps (arena)

StatCap
Resilience490 rating
Hit Rating (vs players)79 rating
  • Resilience: No hard cap — ~350 is the 2v2 entry point, 490+ is competitive. Reduces crit chance, crit damage and DoT damage taken.
  • Hit Rating (vs players): 5% (~79 rating) caps yellow special-attack misses against same-level players. White dual-wield misses stay high but matter less in arena.

Recommended talent build

21/40/0 · Raid

The classic 21/40 Fury build: Bloodthirst, Flurry, Rampage and Improved Slam-less pure sustained damage, with Arms dipped for Impale crit scaling. This is TBC's benchmark melee DPS build once you hold two decent one-handers.

Burst & pressure

  1. 1Charge/Intercept in, Hamstring to stick.
  2. 2Bloodthirst and Whirlwind on cooldown for pressure.
  3. 3Death Wish + Recklessness + trinket during a Freedom window or on a CC'd healer.
  4. 4Execute below 20%; Spell Reflect the key CC.
  5. 5Intervene to peel for your healer.

Commit your burst fully into a swap when the healer can't respond — Fury has no sustained healing-debuff pressure, so it's all about the kill window. Otherwise it plays like Arms: stick, reflect CC, and peel. Prefer Arms unless you specifically want the burst.

FAQ

Fury or Arms for arena?

Arms — Mortal Strike's −50% healing is the reason arena Warriors are strong. Fury is a burst-focused niche pick.

Is Fury good in 2s?

It can spike targets fast with a healer enabling it, but the lack of a healing debuff caps its ceiling. Arms is the standard.
