Arms Warrior PvP Guide

Arms is the arena Warrior spec, built around Mortal Strike — a hard-hitting strike that also cuts the target's healing by 50%. With a healer keeping Blessing of Freedom or peels on you, an Arms Warrior is relentless, un-kiteable pressure that forces cooldowns and grinds teams down.

Overview

Your ceiling is defined by your partner's ability to keep you on target. Spell Reflection, Intervene and Hamstring make you more than a damage stick — you peel, you reflect CC, and you control space for your healer.

Strengths

  • +Mortal Strike's −50% healing is a permanent pressure debuff
  • +Huge burst with Recklessness + Death Wish
  • +Spell Reflect and Intervene add real utility

Weaknesses

  • Kited hard by casters when Freedom/Intervene are down
  • Depends heavily on the healer keeping you mobile

Stat priority & caps (arena)

Stat caps (arena)

StatCap
Resilience490 rating
Hit Rating (vs players)79 rating
  • Resilience: No hard cap — ~350 is the 2v2 entry point, 490+ is competitive. Reduces crit chance, crit damage and DoT damage taken.
  • Hit Rating (vs players): 5% (~79 rating) caps yellow special-attack misses against same-level players. White dual-wield misses stay high but matter less in arena.

Recommended talent build

33/28/0 · Raid

The standard Arms raid build: deep Arms for Mortal Strike and Blood Frenzy — the 4% physical damage debuff that justifies the spot — with the Fury side filled to Flurry for slam-weave throughput. PvP variants move points from slam talents into Second Wind and Improved Intercept; use the calculator to adapt it.

Pressure & burst

  1. 1Charge/Intercept in, Hamstring to stick, and keep Mortal Strike on cooldown for the healing debuff.
  2. 2Pop Recklessness + Death Wish + trinket during a Freedom window or when the healer is CC'd.
  3. 3Overpower on dodge procs; Execute below 20%.
  4. 4Spell Reflection the key CC (Polymorph, Fear); Intervene to peel for your healer.
  5. 5Pummel/Shield Bash to interrupt heals when Mortal Strike isn't enough.

Read the enemy: pre-Spell-Reflect the Polymorph, and time your burst for when the enemy healer is out of position or CC'd. Keep Mortal Strike rolling above all else — the healing debuff is worth more than any single big hit. Peel for your healer when the pressure swaps to them.
