Jan'alai Strategy — Zul'Aman

Phase 4 · Zul'Aman · 2 tanks, 3 healers, rest dps

The Dragonhawk boss, an add-management and bomb-dodging fight. Jan'alai hatches Dragonhawk Eggs into Hatchlings on two platforms, rains Flame Bombs across a grid the raid must sidestep, and at 35% splits into two Amani'shi Fire Casters via Enrage.

Fight phases

  1. 1

    Main phase

Tank Jan'alai center. Control the egg hatching — either hatch one side deliberately and AoE the Hatchlings, or race him down. Dodge Fire Bombs (they detonate in a pattern) and heal through Fireball Barrage.

  2. 2

    Enrage (35%)

Jan'alai summons two Hatchers and enrages; all remaining eggs hatch. Burn him while AoEing the flood of Hatchlings.

By role

Tanks

Hold Jan'alai central and steady. If your strategy hatches a platform, an off-tank/AoE grabs the Hatchlings. The bombs, not his melee, are the danger — keep him where the raid has room to dodge.

Healers

Fireball Barrage and the bomb detonations are the raid damage. The 35% enrage with mass hatchlings is the crunch — save cooldowns for it. Keep the Hatchling-AoE group topped.

DPS

Move off Fire Bombs before they detonate (they cover half the room in a checker pattern). AoE Hatchlings when they hatch, then back to the boss. Plan the egg strategy so you don't get overwhelmed at the 35% enrage.

Common mistakes

  • Standing on a Fire Bomb tile when it detonates.
  • Letting too many eggs hatch at once and drowning in Hatchlings.
