Azgalor Strategy — Mount Hyjal

Phase 3 · Mount Hyjal · 2 tanks, 5-6 healers, rest dps

The fourth Hyjal boss and the last before Archimonde. Azgalor's signature is Doom — a Rain of Fire debuff that, when it expires, spawns a Lesser Doomguard that must be tanked and killed. Manage the Doomguards while healing through Howl of Azgalor's silence.

    Single phase

    Tank Azgalor central; assign a Doomguard tank for the adds Doom spawns. Cleanse/heal Doom targets, out-range Rain of Fire, and burn Azgalor before Doomguards pile up.

By role

Tanks

Main-tank holds Azgalor still through Howl of Azgalor (a raid silence + damage). A dedicated off-tank picks up every Lesser Doomguard — they hit hard and enrage if ignored.

Healers

Doom can't be dispelled off in time on most setups — heal the target and prepare for the Doomguard. Howl silences and hurts the raid; stagger heals so a silence window doesn't drop the tank.

DPS

Kill Lesser Doomguards fast when they spawn, then back to Azgalor. Stay out of Rain of Fire. Balance add cleanup against boss DPS so you beat the Doomguard accumulation.

Common mistakes

  • ✕Leaving a Lesser Doomguard untanked to maul the raid.
  • ✕Standing in Rain of Fire or getting caught silenced with the tank low.
