Overview
RLD wins two ways at once, and that duality is its whole identity. The passive plan is attrition — Unstable Affliction, Corruption, Curse of Agony, and Siphon Life spread across both enemies while the Warlock alternates Drain Life and Drain Mana, so even a match with zero kill pressure slowly starves the other healer into an empty bar. The active plan is the setup: the Rogue opens from stealth, forces trinkets with Cheap Shot and Kidney Shot, then the team stacks Blind on the healer and a Cyclone on a peeler to open a clean window on the kill target.
The Druid is both the anchor and the liability. Superior HoT efficiency, Barkskin, and Nature's Swiftness Healing Touch let it soak enormous pressure, and the Felhunter's Devour Magic plus Spell Lock protects it from magic bursts and interrupts key casts. But every enemy game plan is \"train the Druid,\" so the Rogue's peels — Blind, Gouge, Kidney Shot on the incoming melee — are as important as its damage. Play it as tempo, not as a race: reset with Vanish, reload with Preparation, and end the game on the go where the enemy healer is both low on mana and locked out of the fight.
Win condition
You win by draining the enemy healer to empty and then landing a coordinated lockout, not by out-bursting anyone. Keep full DoT coverage — Unstable Affliction, Corruption, Curse of Agony, Siphon Life — rolling on both enemies so the healer is always triaging, while the Warlock weaves Drain Mana to accelerate the OOM. When their healer is low on mana, call the go: Rogue Cheap Shot to Kidney Shot on the kill target to burn its trinket, Blind on the enemy healer, Cyclone on any off-peeler, and dump Hemorrhage-boosted Ambush damage plus a Death Coil into the stunned target. If it doesn't die, Vanish, re-stealth, and run it again — the drain has only gotten worse for them.
Strengths
- +Layered lockdown — Cheap Shot into Kidney Shot, Blind, and Cyclone chains that keep a healer silenced for whole kill windows
- +Relentless attrition — Unstable Affliction, Corruption, Curse of Agony, and Siphon Life tick while the Warlock drains both enemies dry
- +Two resets on demand — Vanish plus Preparation lets the Rogue re-stealth and rerun a clean opener whenever a go stalls
Weaknesses
- −The Druid is the whole game plan — lose the Rogue's peels and a coordinated swap collapses your only healer fast
- −Purge and Dispel Magic strip the Warlock's DoTs, letting mana-efficient teams outlast your rot
Cooldown timeline
Open with a Sap on a DPS to start the match 3v2 and let the Rogue land Premeditation into a clean Cheap Shot. First real go: Kidney Shot forces the target's trinket, immediately chain Blind onto the enemy healer and Cyclone the second peeler so nothing lands during the stun. Save Preparation for the second attempt — it hands you a fresh Vanish, Blind, and Kidney Shot back-to-back. Cloak of Shadows is the Rogue's answer to Polymorph or a magic swap onto it; Nature's Swiftness plus Barkskin are the Druid's panic buttons when a stun lands during pressure. Innervate goes on the Druid the moment it dips, never preemptively.
Positioning
Play the Druid in a pillar-hugging pocket where it can LoS enemy casters and reset its own casts, with the Warlock a step behind so it can free-cast DoTs and drains without eating melee. The Rogue roams — living on the enemy healer between kill windows, peeling anything that touches your Druid with Gouge and Kidney Shot. Never let the enemy dictate a fight in the open; funnel every go around a pillar so your Blind and Cyclone chains can't be trinket-and-swapped, and so the Druid always has a wall to juke Poly and casted stuns.
Vs. the meta
RMP out-controls you on the Druid — chained Polymorph, Blind, and a Sap opener can keep your only healer CC'd through a full Rogue-Mage burst. Pre-DoT the Mage so Ice Block and Blink don't reset your pressure for free, and hold Cloak of Shadows on the Rogue to survive the swap when they train it. Your Druid must play tight to LoS every Polymorph and save Barkskin plus trinket for the Shatter go; the Felhunter's Spell Lock on the Mage's Poly is often the single cast that saves the game. Grind it long — once their Mage and Priest are low on mana your drains win, so don't over-commit an early go into full trinkets.
LSD is the attrition mirror that beats you at your own game: the Shaman's Purge strips your Unstable Affliction and Corruption while Tremor Totem shrugs off your Fear and Blind chains, and their double-caster drain outlasts your single Warlock. Kill the totems on cooldown and time your Fears between Tremor pulses. Because you can't reliably OOM them, you must convert to a kill — funnel everything onto the Shaman behind a pillar, use the Rogue to Kick and Kidney Shot its heals, and land Cyclone on their Druid to strip its peel during the go. Cheap Shot the Shaman to deny Grounding-immune reactive totem drops and force the fight to end on your setup, not their sustain.
Gear requirements
- ▸Rogue and Warlock prioritize resilience to survive swaps, then Rogue stacks agility/AP on a fast offhand for Kidney-window burst while the Warlock values spell damage and hit to keep DoTs landing.
- ▸Druid maxes resilience and Spirit/mana-per-5 to win the attrition war, leaning on +healing and stamina so it can soak a full train while HoTs and Cyclone carry the control game.
Tips
- •Lead every go by burning the kill target's trinket with Kidney Shot before you commit Blind and Cyclone — a trinketed stun wastes the whole chain.
- •Drain Mana is damage in this comp: even outside a go, keep the enemy healer's bar dropping so your next setup lands into an empty pool.
- •Peel first, DPS second — a Gouge or Kidney Shot on the melee training your Druid is worth more than another Ambush most fights.
- •Bank Preparation for the second attempt, not the opener; the reset Vanish and Blind are how RLD closes a game the first go couldn't.
