Feral Druid / Rogue — TBC Arena 2s Guide

BurstDifficulty Season 2

A double-stealth burst comp that wins by never letting the enemy out of a stun. Both players open from the shadows and overlap stuns to delete a target inside one window, before a healer can react. It is one of the highest-skill, most gear-hungry double-DPS comps in the bracket — all ceiling, little forgiveness.

Overview

Feral/Rogue is a pure kill-setup comp with no healer and no safety net. You win by stacking a Cheap Shot on top of a Pounce and chaining Kidney Shot into Maim so the target spends your entire burst stunned. With Wound Poison and Mangle amplifying the damage, a geared feral and rogue can drop a squishy target inside a single stunlock before their partner even finishes a cast.

The flip side is that everything rides on that opener. You have no way to out-sustain a patient team, and cleanses, bubbles, and Freedom all unravel your setup. This is a comp that punishes mistakes on the enemy and dies to its own missed globals — gear both players hard, sync every opener on voice, and treat each round as one clean burst attempt rather than a grind.

Win condition

Land a synced double-stealth opener on one kill target and hold it stunned from Cheap Shot into Pounce, then extend with Kidney Shot and Maim while the feral and rogue dump Shred, Mangle, and Eviscerate under Wound Poison — the target has to die inside that chain, because you have no healer to win a longer game.

Strengths

  • +Two stealth openers into one overlapping stunlock that almost nothing survives clean
  • +Two independent stun chains — Cheap Shot/Kidney Shot and Pounce/Maim — keep the kill target locked through the whole burst
  • +Feral's Bear-form armor, Barkskin, and Cyclone give a double-DPS comp real defensive and control tools

Weaknesses

  • No healer and no true Mortal Strike — your poison and bleed pressure is easy to cleanse and out-heal
  • Bubble, Blessing of Freedom, and priest dispels strip the whole kill setup and leave you with nothing

Cooldown timeline

Both open from stealth on the same target: rogue Premeditation → Cheap Shot while the feral Ravages and follows with Pounce, overlapping two stuns. Rogue burns energy into a fast Kidney Shot as Cheap Shot fades; feral Maim extends the lock. Pop Tiger's Fury + trinket for the feral's damage window and Adrenaline Rush on the rogue if the kill is close. Cyclone the enemy healer through the burst so they can't cleanse or top the target. If it fails, disengage — Vanish and re-Prowl, Feral Charge and Shadowstep back in — and reset for a fresh clean opener rather than trading in the open.

Positioning

Both players stack on the kill target; there is no healer to protect, so your positioning is entirely about landing openers and denying the enemy healer. Force fights near pillars so you can LoS the healer's globals during your burst, and use Feral Charge + Shadowstep to re-close after a reset. Keep the feral out of caster line when powershifting to recover energy, and never let the rogue get kited off the target — without uptime, this comp does nothing.

Vs. the meta

vs Warrior / Holy PaladinGuide →

You cannot out-last a Holy Paladin — he cleanses your poison and bleeds, Freedoms the warrior onto you, and Bubbles the kill. Your only line is a perfect uninterrupted stunlock on the warrior with Cyclone on the paladin the entire window so he can't cleanse or bubble. Save Blind and Maim to peel the warrior's Intercept/Hamstring off your feral, and commit all cooldowns to one attempt; a slow game is an automatic loss.

vs Warlock / Disc PriestGuide →

Fear chains, Death Coil, and priest dispels wreck a healer-less burst comp. Tunnel one target and keep stuns rolling so they can't free-cast Fear, Blind the priest on the kill attempt, and Cyclone him so he can't dispel your Wound Poison or shield through the burst. Hold your trinket for the Fear that actually matters, not the first one.

Gear requirements

  • Feral needs deep resilience plus the 4pc PvP / T6 burst pieces and a high-AP weapon — the comp is dead weight until the feral is geared
  • Rogue wants 400+ resilience and a fast offhand to keep Wound Poison and stun uptime rolling

Tips

  • Sync openers on voice — a Cheap Shot and a Pounce on two different targets wastes your entire setup.
  • Powershift to refill energy between Shreds so the feral's damage never stalls mid-stunlock.
  • Keep Wound Poison up before you commit; without the healing debuff, any paladin or priest simply out-heals your burst.
  • Spend Cyclone on the enemy healer during the kill window, not as a panic peel — it's your only way to lock a healer out of the setup.
